Eagle's Syndrome

A facial pain syndrome typified by pain upon swallowing and rapid turning of the neck. Caused by elongation of a pair of bones called the styloid processes which start at the base of the skull and point down toward the Adam's apple. Often the pain passes with no dentures treatment; is of extreme discomfort to patients who are getting radiation therapy to the neck.
